BABYLAND GENERAL HOSPITAL
Babyland General Hospital in Cleveland Georgia is home to the famous and popular Cabbage Patch Kids dolls. Known the world over as the birthplace of the hand-stitched Cabbage Patch Kids, BabyLand General Hospital is a very exciting place to tour in the North Georgia Mountains and the price is right: free!
Babyland General Hospital is housed in a genuinel turn-of-the-century medical clinic, and free tours are given to show how the Cabbage Patch Kids are "born." You can hold, play with, cuddle and even adopt one of the Cabbage Patch dolls. Babyland General Hospital is an attraction for children of all ages, many of whom may remember the original hype over adopting the unique Cabbage Patch Kids. Admission is free. Adoption is optional.
BabyLand General Hospital has almost everything you'd expect of a maternity hospital: Licensed Patch Nurses (LPNs) and Doctors, a nursery, Preemies who arrived early because of a frost in the Cabbage Patch, and much more. Visitors to BabyLand may witness an actual "delivery" when a Mother Cabbage goes into labor at the Magic Crystal Tree. A father's waiting room features some of the earliest Cabbage Patch Kids, known as Little People in the late '70s and early '80s. BabyLand General Hospital showcases not only babies, but also students at BabyLand Elementary School. Visitors eager to "adopt" a Cabbage Patch doll may choose from a number of Original Preemies, Newborns and Kids. Each one-of-a-kind Cabbage Patch doll comes with adoption papers and a birth certificate. The adoption becomes official after the oath of adoption is administered.
BabyLand General Hospital also performs surgical procedures, makeovers and baths to previously-adopted Cabbage Patch Kids. The Moody Hollow General Store at BabyLand General offers a full selection of children's clothing, souvenir T-shirts, Cabbage Patch videos, dolls, toys and accessories.
