Alpine Helen is a quaint Bavarian hamlet in the North Georgia Mountains. The Chattahoochee River runs right through the middle of town where visitors enjoy fishing, wading, and tubing. For the outdoor enthusiast every road leads to hiking, waterfalls, and mountain streams. Unicoi State Park and Anna Ruby Falls are close by. By summer the water of the Chattahoochee River warms up for tubing in the Chattahoochee River. In fall, the Oktoberfest begins and every night is a beer and bratwurst festival. For the holidyas, Helen transforms the Alpine village into a Christmas wonderland with the Christmas lights on at Thanksgiving. You may even enjoy a few snowflakes while wandering around the village that will add to the charm and ambiance of the Bavarian village.

The Black Forest Bear Park is an educational family exhibit located in the beautiful mountains of Helen, Georgia. The park hosts a bear exhibit, snake exhibit and the largest gift shop in Helen. Visitors may buy food trays that consist of sliced apples, lettuce and bread to feed the bears.
