Historical SitesGeorgia was an important state in Civil War history. If you are a Civil War History buff, you will want to visit the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park in Fort Oglethorpe. Driver the seven mile loop tour which features commemorative markers and monuments placed by the states after the war. The battleground was the first military park in the United States. It is part of the Blue-Gray Trail, a series of interlinked sites dedicated to preserving Georgia's rich Civil War history.
